INTRODUCTION
The goal we set for ourselves, gives us sense of direction of what to do, where to do, why to do it and when to do it in order to achieve the desired goal.
BARAKA SELF HELP GROUP has ambition to achieve the set goals in order to improve our living standard. Ambition is a strong desire to achieve something good, great or big. It is the desire to be successful, prosperous, famous or rich.
It is important in person's life because it makes one to work hard, utilize the available resources and maximize one effort so that maximum achievement is obtained. A person without ambition is like a ship in the open deep sea that has no compass to give it a sense of direction.
GEOGRAPHIC BACKGROUND
We are located in Naivasha town. The group members meet once a month to monitor and evaluate the ongoing project.
The area in focus is a cosmopolitan, with short and long rains: long rain occurs in the month of March to May and short rains in the month of October to November, but sometimes the climate is not favorable.
Generally Naivasha is densely populated and there is site for camping.
BACKGROUND
BARAKA SELF HELP GROUP aim to uplift the living standard of its members by utilizing the local available resources and use of modern technology. The group has 35 active members with a common goal, objective and needs.
The group is officially registered by the ministry of gender, sports, culture and social services as an active SELF HELP GROUP.
Our main objective is to work as a team and look for ways of eradicating poverty among ourselves and community at large.
OBJECTIVES
1. Table banking rotating credits(on going).
2. Buying plots for its members
VISION
The vision of our group is to eradicate poverty among ourselves and have improved economy that can be felt in the sphere.
We aim to be self-sustaining and self-reliance among ourselves. Poverty eradication among our youths by mobilizing them, encouraging them to start other income generating projects.
JUSTIFICATION
We shall continue to work as a team and use the modern technology, skills and qualified extension personnel's during the mutual implementation and evaluation stages.
We shall also abide to the rules and regulation of the group.
We have confidence that we shall succeed because research has shown that businesse are able to get more out of limited resources.
STRATEGIES
The trust of this group development strategy will be to involve the group members in all phases of decision making, implementation and evaluation of income generating projects.
To conduct a need assessment and priorities of the target groups, explore and make use of local resources and operate under the concept of integrated development approach that lead to self-reliance and self-sustainability and development effort.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The members have identified themselves with the local needs and they are making the use of the available resources and operate under the concept of integrating development approach to empower target population to attain growth holistically. As a result, the project will improve the living standards of the community at large. Our nation will benefit out of the revenue generated.
PROPOSED BUDGET.
It's our wish to request the funding donor and the implementing committee to monitor and evaluate the ongoing project. Group officials will be honestly sending the progressive report to the funding agency on monthly basis.
The members are ready to learn new skills that might be taught by the donors. It is our hope and believe that our proposal will be accepted and approved as requested. We are ready to adjust and fully cooperate with you. Finally we shall ensure that the funds available are utilized well.
