Nairobi Technical Training Institute is a public tertiary institution.
It was started in 1951 as “Modern High School” to cater for the Asian community residing in the neighbourhood.
In 1953, the name of the school was changed to Technical High School.
The school opened its doors to all races after independence.

Levels of Training Requirements
Artisan Courses: Entry requirement is usually a KCSE Certificate and above.
Craft Certificate Courses: (Modular Based). Minimum entry requirement to these courses is usually a KCSE mean grade D (plain) for Module One and PASS for Module Two.
Diploma Courses: (Modular Based). Entry requirements at this level is usually a KCSE mean grade C- (minus) and different cluster subjects for different courses.
