Time Management

Basic considerations in managing time;

1. Quantity

2. Quality.

To manage your time well, you first need to be able to accurately estimate the amount of time required for what you need to do.

It’s important to develop an understanding of how much time it takes to do certain things, whether at work or in your personal life.

Quality time is free from distractions and multi-tasking.

To manage time well practice time blocking.

Time blocking is a time management strategy where you schedule out every part of what you want to do during the day.

Time blocking allows you to plan out visually how you will use the hours in your days and week so that you can see when you are occupied and when you may have free time.

Process of Time Blocking

1. Schedule your presets first. These are the things that usually occur at the same time every day and they are least adjustable. For example; working hours, dropping children to school and picking them, etc.

2. Next, block out time for completing important tasks
. These are the things that need to get done and usually require larger blocks of time.

3. Lastly block time for daily needs and personal time like sleeping, preparing meals, eating, going out, etc.

Digital tools like alarm, calendar can help you improve your time management and overcome barriers to productivity.

Digital tools enhance your capabilities by allowing you to see a larger picture and keep track of minute details that might otherwise get lost.
