In my professional life, I have encountered both good and bad leaders. The great leader I have worked with is great because he does not keep on lamenting and yelling.
Once he gives you work and assignments, he believes that you are mature enough to handle the assignment without being pushed left right and center.
Secondly, the leader is great because he is very polite. In spite of the fact that he is the head, he is very polite and sociable, we sometimes joke as long an employee keeps the boundary.
Treating employees as mature people who know what they are doing is perhaps the most noteworthy aspect for the great leader. The leader is empowering and makes people grow. On the other hand, I have also worked with not so good leaders, but there is one I would consider worst.
The leader used to be ineffective because he wanted to show customers that he is working towards their wellbeing, always crushing bank tellers and telling them that they were slow, little did he know that the network system and computers were so faulty that they kept on hanging and stopping.
What made the leader ineffective is that he used to blame tellers for taking a longer turnaround time without listening to them, or even establishing what could be the problem.
