Intuitive decision making model is not only about instinct. This is because in instinct there are emotions and decisions made out of emotions do not yield to better outcomes. This model incorporates experiences, training and knowledge (O'Neal, 2021).
Think of the Patriot Act sections that were passed after 9/11 attacks. The Congress passed the law unanimously. But, the law has become one that intrudes on the Americans civil liberties. The law has infringed on the citizen’s privacy (Beens, 2020).

From my point of view, the law was passed out of emotions. The nation was in its darkest hours after the terror attack and decisions had to be made as soon as possible. Instincts (emotions) without experiences and knowledge took over and two decades gone the decision that was made is making us go through unwarranted searches and screening.
