How to Use Social Media for HR

Though social media sites like LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter among others can be used by HR professionals as recruitment tools, there are issues the recruiting firms need to address.

One, for potential applicants to make an application, the recruiting firm must establish a bona fide presence on these sites. We are in an age of spam and fraudulent social media accounts. If a firm creates a new account in these platforms and starts to recruit immediately chances are it won’t attract the best talents.

Job seekers applies jobs online on accounts, pages and channels they have trust with (Silsbee, 2022).

An organization can ask its employees to be sharing fun moments at the organization on their social media platforms. Happy employees are likely to attract potential applicants.

Social media platforms can help an organization to keep the day’s low. This is because posting job openings on social media reaches a huge pool of potential applicants very fast. It is cost effective and it makes it possible to screen applicants before they are shortlisted. This is because applicant’s posts can give a clear picture of his or her personality.
