Although, one may think that DHS will be able to achieve 100% screening and scanning of containers bound to U.S., the department have been requesting for the extension of 100% achievement as from 2012 (Hutchins, 2016).
This means the department will continue to push for more time to hit goal of 100% scanning.
A decade is almost gone and DHS is still struggling and laying blame on inadequate resources allocated. Will the Federal government allocate enough funds and employees to DHS when terrorists will enter the U.S. soil via containers?
Container screening and scanning need to be given a priority for the safety of the American citizens and their resources.
