General Francis Ogolla was a highly accomplished and respected senior officer in the Kenya Defence Forces. He joined the military on April 24, 1984, and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant on May 6, 1985, and posted to the Kenya Air Force1.

Tragically, on April 18, 2024, General Francis Ogolla died in a helicopter crash near the Kaben-Cheptulel border between Elgeyo Marakwet and West Pokot counties in Kenya. This unfortunate event marked the end of a remarkable career in the military.
