Computer virus are programs that alter the way a computer functions. Computer virus can;

- make a computer to crash
- encrypt content saved in computer storage.
- prevent opening of applications among other adverse effects.
Types of computer virus
Trojan Horses; these are computer viruses that appear to be a legitimate application or program but they are not.

Prevention of computer virus
- Install antivirus program (this is the effective method)
- Avoid downloading unknown content on the internet
- Avoid opening emails you do not know their source
- Before you connect external devices on you computer ensure you have a working antivirus program on your computer.
Note: If you are using Microsoft windows 10 you only need to ensure Windows Defender is on. Other antivirus programs like Avast, Kaspersky, McAfee, Bitdefender, AVG, Norton, etc. once installed on a computer they make it to be slow. Therefore, if you want your computer to be fast ensure you have latest Windows with Windows Defender which is working.
