Bound in Silence

The walls press close, the air grows thin,
A battle rages deep within.
The days are long, the nights unkind,
A heavy weight consumes my mind.

I see her rise, her strength so clear,
While I sit bound by doubt and fear.
Her hands bring bread, her toil, our keep,
While I am left to watch and weep.

Each coin she earns feels like a chain,
A silent echo of my pain.
For I, a man, was taught to lead,
To plant, to harvest, to meet the need.

Yet here I sit, with dreams that stall,
A shadow cast against the wall.
Her kindness cuts, her care, a knife,
For I was made to build this life.

Oh God, I ask, I lift my plea,
Unbind this soul, unshackle me.
Let strength return, let purpose reign,
Let me stand tall through loss and pain.

For I will not be caged this way,
Tomorrow bends to light of day.
And when it comes, I'll find my path,
And leave behind this heavy wrath.
