Dare to Dream

It was the year 2002,
I was a shamba boy,
Oh no the village guy who does all manual work.
But I dared to dream.

I went back to school,
A school I had been out’
Not for one year,
But for eight good years.
But I had a dream.

In school I did not behave like a normal student,
I respected my teachers,
I listened to them,
I consulted them,
Because I had a dream.

I stayed in school for another eight years,
When I left it,
I went back to our village,
Not as a shamba boy but as a transformed person.
It is not the school that changed me,
But the dream I had.

It is that dream that took me back to class,
Not as a student but as a teacher,
It is that dream that took me to bank,
Not as a customer but as an employee.
Where I live today it’s because of that dream.
What I do it’s because of that dream.

I left the bank,
Not because I was laid down.
But because I have a bigger dream.
And that is why you are reading this story.
If you will not dare to dream,
Know I am daring to dream!
