Mountain Voices

We, the residents of Mrima,
Beyond Kiharu and Kikuyu’s bounds,
Come with a plea,
A simple request, but urgent.

It's about the voices of Ichung'wah and Ndindi,
Their social channels—
Facebook, WhatsApp, Xspaces—
We ask to be restricted.

Mark our words:
Only Kiharu and Kikuyu residents,
Should see their posts,
Their messages of progress and achievement.

For these two play in their own premier league,
Posting development, day after day,
Leaving the rest of us in the dust.
And now, Mrima grows restless.

We hear it on every corner:
“Our leaders, what are they doing?
Why do they sleep through progress?
Why do they forget us?”

It’s because of Ichung’wah and Ndindi—
Their daily updates,
A civic education we didn’t ask for,
Reminding us of what we lack.

Now, we, the residents of Mrima, ask:
Where are our roads?
Where is our education?
Why are we left behind?

But, if you control,
Ichung’wah and Ndindi posts,
We will not know our problems,
We will keep quiet.
We will remain silent in our darkness.
