Thanksgiving Envelope

A woman arrived, holding an envelope,
On top, it read:
Thanksgiving Offering.
She handed it to the cyber man.

He hesitated, unsure.
How could he accept a Thanksgiving offering?
He wasn't a pastor.

But the woman insisted—it was his.
She reminded him of how he'd helped her,
How that help had changed her life.
Then, she left.

He opened the envelope.
Inside—4,000 shillings.
Looking at it, he muttered:
"This is the price men pay for sleeping with women around."
We asked, how?

He explained:
That woman came here, two weeks after giving birth,
Holding a birth notification.
She asked me to change the father's name,
So she could get money from different men.
And I did it.

On one copy: John Karanja.
Another: Kelvin Mungai.
The third: Julius Mwangi.
Next: Francis Kamau.
Then: Daniel Njuguna.
Other names I can't recall,
But she left with 11 copies, ready for distribution.
