I am a Church school teacher,
and children ask me,
“Teacher, what is church by the way?”
I tell them,
“It is a place where people meet God.”
But they do not accept that answer.
I take them back to the days of Moses,
I tell them about the tent of meeting.
I also tell them about the temple of Solomon.
But they do not accept my narration.
I try to tell them how God appeared,
To his people through the tent of meeting,
I tell them of people meeting God,
Not in another place,
But in the temple in Jerusalem.
But they do not accept my ideas.
I then ask them,
‘Can you tell me what church is?’
They raise their hands.
One says ‘it is a place where people come to see new dresses.’
Another says, ‘it is a place of holy people.’
Another says, ‘it is a place where people sleep on chairs.’
Another says, ‘it is a place where people watch others pray and dance.’
Another says, ‘it is a place where people collect stories.’
Another says, ‘it is a place where people give their money.’
But what is church?
A church is a place of meeting God.
It is a place where a sinner get freedom.
It is a place where the blind see.
It is a place where the sick is healed.
It is a place where Hannah ask for Samuel.
It is a place where the lame walk.
Church is a place of meeting God!
