History of Michuki Technical Training institute

Michuki Technical Training institute (MTTI) started as a youth training Centre in 1956.

Between 1978 and 1980, the European Economic Community donated funds towards the construction of Classes, Staff Houses and provision of teaching tools and equipment’s.

The school was converted into Michuki Technical high school until 1986 when it was converted to Technical Training institute.

In 1990 September it was renamed to Kangema Technical Training Institute.

In 2003 the name was changed to original name as Michuki Technical Training Institute.

Michuki TTI is located in Kangema Sub-county Muranga County. The college can be accessed through these routes:

1. Nairobi route: From Nairobi you take Muigana Sacco matatu which are located at Koinange Nyamakima area which drops you to the college gate. From Nairobi you take THIKA Super highway then to Kenol, Saba Saba, Muranga town then Michuki TTI.

2. Embu route: Take matatu at Embu through Kagio, Kutus, Sagana, Muranga town then to Michuki TTI

3. Nyeri route: From Nyeri town to Othaya, Kiria-ini to Irima Juction before reaching Kangema town then to Michuki TTI.
