Christians need to change their way of thinking regarding other cultures.
Many Christians believe Christianity is the best way of life and other cultures are not right.
That is why Christians have conflicts with other cultures like mostly Islam.
Christianity should not be part of other cultures. It should stand on its own.
Christianity is a culture of Christians and not all people.
If we cannot force the Luo people of Kenya to live like Indians, then we should not force other people to live like Christians.
We should allow other people to live the way they want.
When the bible says “you were called out of darkness” it means Christians were living in other cultures. And, not all people were called. Therefore, there are people who were left in ‘darkness’ according to Christianity. That darkness is where other cultures comes in.
The bible does not allow Christians to fight those ‘darkness” cultures or deny members of those cultures their rights.
Instead, the bible teaches Christians how to live as Christians. It also advises Christians to live with wisdom with members of other cultures.
Thus, Christians should not be a roadblock to LGBTQ emancipation. Christians should allow these groups of people to be.
It is the best kind of life that Christians lead that should convert these people and not bottlenecks put in place by Christians. A Christian should not be part of limiting other people’s rights.
Christians should be like Joshua, the one who gave the children of Israel power of choice; either to serve Jehovah or the gods of their ancestors. LGBTQ groups should be given power of choice.
In this world, there is no single day that will be when Christianity will be a lone culture. The history of Gods people (Christians) cannot be sweet without other cultures. Think of Noah without crooked generation, think of Abraham without Canaanites, think of Lot without Sodom and Gomorrah people, think of Israelites without Egyptians, think of Jews without Babylonians and other people they met and lived with, think of Jesus without Pharisees, Sadducees and Samaritans, think of early believers without prosecution from people of other cultures.
It is the way Gods people (Christians) lived that made them a special people. It was not laws they put in place. In fact, they had no power to make laws that dictated how other people lived.
If black people were given voting rights, if women after a long struggle were given their rights, a time will come when every nation in the world will pass laws in favor of LGBTQ groups.
That is the day Martin Luther King Jr dream of people being judged by their character and not orientation and other man made factors will be actualise.
