Lifestyle is Shaped by Teachings

I was born in a village where people drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes and bhang, abuse drugs and commit all vices. But, I learnt from my mother and grandmother not to follow the ways of my village crooks.

I have been working with people who do all workplaces malpractices. But, I have learnt not to be a workplace bandit from men and women of virtues.

We become what we learn from the people around us. It is not what is going around that shape us. But, that which we choose to follow.

The bible does not outlaw the sitting of sinners. It doesn't say laws to be put in place to curtail or limit those hang outs. But, it commends those who chose not to be in those hang outs. It praises those who chose to be different.

According to God's Kingdom some factions of LGBTQ are hangouts of wickedness. But, no single verse in the bible that outlaws them. These groups should be allowed to be. It is upon individuals to choose what to follow. It is upon parents to teach their children what is right.

When the bible warned Israelites not to copy the ways of Canaanites, it was because their lifestyles were not in line with Gods Kingdom. But, did God give Israelites power to make laws to curb flourishing of Canaanite way of life? Oh, no. The Israelites lived according to God's laws despite existence of Canaanite lifestyles and laws.

Moses, the one who brought Israelites out of Egypt, lived in Egyptian palace but he did not live like an Egyptian. He lived as a Hebrew. This is because his mother taught him Hebrew way of life and he chose to live that way.

Legalizing LGBTQ is a normal thing. It won't change anything. We will still live as our parents taught us and our children will live as we teach them. Our worry is not LGBTQ legalization but whether we are inculcating our way of life to our children.

When we teach our children our way of life, we create Mordecai, Daniel, Shadrach, misheck and Abednego of our time. We design a generation that will not bow down to foreign ways of life like to myLGBTQ.

Isaac, the son of Abraham, was born and brought up in Canaan, but, he did not live like them. He did not even marry them because of their lifestyles. It is not about being born in a country with laws that limit others rights but being taught what is right according to your people's way of life.
