Never Be a Nomad in Business.
I am one person who if I enter your business and I get what I want I will keep coming back to it.
That has been my way of life since my childhood.
I have attachment with some businesses in all places I have been.
Even my hair cut is done at one place!
If I happen to go to my village and need something I still visit the shops, I used to buy while I was a young boy.
But, in most occasion I find those shops under new management. If I ask about the former owner, I am told, ‘he moved to another building in the same town.’
There are also some people who do not stay in their business for long. Some open the doors and then I do not know where they go. You visit such a business and you find the owner is not around. Do you wait for him or her? Not me. If I find that business unmanned two times, I do not even return to that business again.
If you are in business never be a wanderer. Being in business means being in one place. Let your movement be minimal.
Ask yourself why bank counters are manned even when there are no customers in the banking hall. Ask yourself why big and good businesses are always in one place.
A business person who is not tied to his or her business is like a security guard who does not stay at the entrance point.
If you are not in your business let the people you have employed know they are supposed to be there always. Running a business is not opening doors. It is availability of a person to attend to the client’s needs.
If the people in business are nomads, the returning customers will come and find no one in it. Believe me if they find no one in it they won’t come back gain.
Also a business that keep moving from one place to another is prone to lose its customer base. To win customers completely remain in one place. They will get used to your business to an extent of becoming part of their lives, such that they cannot live without it.
