The lesson learnt from German reunification can be applied in uniting nations like South Sudan and Sudan in Africa. The two nations separated in 2011 ending a civil war that had dominated the two nations for a long period of time.
The major challenges in the reunification process can be; disagreements on how to share the resources, lack of reaching a common point of establishing laws to govern the two nations as one, existing hostile relationship, failure to accept negotiation outcome like give and take, among others (Pelz D, 2019).
The only way freedom can come in the north without civil war is through well planned diplomacy talks and negotiations. The two nations should spend a good time in negotiations and the process of unification should continue until the two nations are fully united.

The issues of concern should be addressed in a way that satisfies the two parties. For example, the nation that is well developed should be ready to give some of its resources to develop the region that lags behind (InterAction Council, 1993). Two, there should not be border restrictions. Three, no laws from one region that should be imposed on the other region, there should be laws and regulations modification to suit the needs of both parties.
