Mohave Mental Health Clinic (MMHC) is a not for profit organization that provides mental health services to the resident of Mohave County in Arizona state. The facility was started in 1968 with an aim of helping people who encounter life disrupting problems that affect their mental wellness. Of late, the facility has been receiving high number of people in need of their services who are affected by the covid-19 pandemic (MMHC, 2021). The facility offers services like life skills training, medication, mental assessment, psychiatric therapy, among other services related to mental wellness.

The facility prides itself by having seasoned specialists. All the mental health specialists in the facility are accredited by the relevant bodies and have experience of more than 5 years. The facility customizes its services to suit the patient’s needs. For example, the patient can choose inpatient, outpatient or home-based care (MMHC, 2021). The cost of the care is also affordable as the main goal is not to make profit but to help the residents of Mohave County improve their mental health. The facility accepts payments from donors, self-pay, insurance providers, among other payers of health services.

The benefits of MMHC services includes; improved and healthy relationships in families and workplaces in Mohave County. The resident self-esteem is increased and anxiety is reduced. The cases of depression are reduced and individuals are able to have inner peace despite facing hardships like loss of jobs or family members. The Mental health services also helps residents to stop depending on drugs for their survival (Miller, 2021).

Mohave County had around 212,181 people as per 2019 population estimates. The county has people from different cultures, that is, Hispanics, Blacks, Whites, Indians and the natives, and MMHC strives to serve them without discrimination.13.6% of the population does not have health insurance policy. The County has a population of more 86% with above high school education. Only around 16% of the population are poor and more than 80% are able to access internet at their households (United States Census Bureau, n.d.).

Despite, being in the mental health field for more than half a century, MMHC faces stiff competition from upcoming facilities like; ABC Therapy Counselling Center, Nazcare, National Institute of Mental Health, Cousineau Cathy M Ed CPC, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Harmony Healthcare, among others (Psychology Today, n.d.). The high number of mental health services providers in the region shows the potential the County has in this field. MMHC has three outlets in this county that offer services to clients close to their residential areas, that is, Kingman, Lake Havasu City and Bullhead City clinics.
