Corporate Social responsibility is a Marketing Tool

Corporate Social responsibility (CSR) is supposed to show the commitment organizations have to the society or community where they operate.

For example, Microsoft Inc spends billions each year in activities that aim to reduce carbon in the environment around the world.

Although, CSR is not supposed to be a marketing tool, in real sense it is a way that businesses advertise themselves. I get moved by what the organizations do to better lives and make the world a better place.

For instance, I buy operating system and other applications from Microsoft solely because of its environmental CSR. But, on the other hand there are organization I cannot buy their products or services despite them having CSR programs. These includes organizations that use CSR activities to cover their unethical behavior.
