Discrimination in the Criminal Justice

Criminal justice is not served equally in America. The issue of bails discriminates the citizens. The Americans may claim to have a constitution that shields them from unfair and exorbitant bails, but, the truth is the same law does not apply equally to the rich and the poor.

The poor citizen may be unable to raise a $2500 bail, but the rich can raise millions of dollars. The ability to raise the bail should not be tied only to the dollars, but also, to other factors like nature of accusation, magnitude of security threat and ability to raise the required bail.

A bail of $2500 may seem to be too little but the income disparity in the nation makes some people not even to afford a bail of $1000.
