HR manager skill; open to new ideas

A HR manager need to be a person open to new ideas and challenges. Before covid-19 pandemic the HR managers were more concerned with job satisfaction, employee engagement and career development. But the pandemic disrupted that order and many HR managers found themselves ensuring remote workers had necessary tools to perform their duties.

Also, managing remote teams pop up as a new role. HR managers who were open to emerging issues were able to adjust to new job roles and were a resource to their organizations in conversations about the future of their firms.

Before, the dust of managing remote teams could settle, the covid-19 vaccination mandate emerged and the HR managers found themselves drafting health policies for their organization. Thus being open to new ideas is a skill that HR managers need to have in order to add strategic value to their organizations’ (Goldberg, 2022).

Use of Big Data might change the role of HR, but, organizations might find themselves in legal battles. How will algorithms used in Big Data be able to come up with objective results without discrimination?

Big Data may have the information HR needs but mining them is where the challenge lies. How will these historical digital stored data be mined without intruding individuals’ privacy? As far as Big Data is concerned I think firms need to be careful on how data is handled (Peck, 2013).
