My parents used to withdraw some of our favorite things like a visit to the park if they found us fighting when we were young. But, I did not know they were modifying our behaviors.
We reached a point where we could avoid the fights even if one had an urge to fight.
This approach is very helpful to teachers and parents as it helps them to form the behavior they want in children.
Now my question is, are the prizes and awards given to individuals and organizations for exemplary performance an example of reinforcements? This is because they encourage a certain behavior. For instance, an award given to an employee for demonstrating integrity or an award like Nobel prize.
