The future of HR

The skill that HR managers need to have in order to add strategic value is that the HR manager need to have a clear knowledge of how the organization operates. He must have a big picture of the whole firm and not restricted to the HR department.

Think of a HR manager in this age who does not know the technological requirement of remote workers and does not understand legal requirements relating to covid-19 vaccination. Such a manger will rarely be engaged in chatting the future of the firm.

Strategic value is added by HR managers who understands what goes in in all the organization department (Jay, n.d.).

We are in what is now called “new normal”. Technology has taken over every aspect of employees. The future of HR will also be rooted on technology. From digital (liquid) employees, managing virtual teams, use technology to monitor remote employees, talent development and retention will all be done using technology.

The big question is will IT and HR be like sales and marketing teams? This is because HR seems to be tech based in the future (Harvard Business Review, 2019).
